George Hamilton IV
![]() |
| Proclaimed the International Ambassador of Country Music thanks to his performances around the world during the 1970s, George Hamilton IV began his career in the late '50s not as a country artist but as a teen-oriented pop star. After his first hit, "A Rose and a Baby Ruth," hit number six on the pop charts in 1956, he toured with Buddy Holly and the Everly Brothers but cracked the pop Top Ten only one more time. Instead, Hamilton moved to the country charts by 1959, where nine of his hits spent time in the Top Ten, including his only number one, "Abilene." Though he began in pop, Hamilton's primary interest in country music stretched back all the way to his hometown of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Born July 19, 1937, George Hamilton IV was raised on the Westerns of Gene Autry and began playing guitar at the age of 12. He formed a country band in high school and while still a freshman at the University of South Carolina, he met John D. Loudermilk, then a struggling songwriter. With a contract in hand from the Colonial label, Hamilton recorded "A Rose and a Baby Ruth," Loudermilk's attempt at approximating rockabilly music. The single did well regionally during 1956, and was picked up by ABC-Paramount later that year. After it hit number six on the pop charts, ABC signed Hamilton to a regular contract. Somewhat uncomfortable on the pop charts, George Hamilton IV never equalled the success of "A Rose and a Baby Ruth." The 1957 single "Why Don't They Understand" barely made the Top Ten, and his 1958 inspirational record "The Teen Commandments" -- recorded with Paul Anka and Johnny Nash -- stalled at number 29. After appearing on The Jimmy Dean Show during 1957-58, Hamilton was given his own show by ABC-TV in 1959; it ended before the year was out. After the failure of his own show, Hamilton joined the Grand Ole Opry in 1959, making his claim to country audiences more sincere by not affecting the Western trappings of most country artists. His first entry on the country charts ("Before This Day Ends") made number four in late 1960. One year later, Hamilton was signed to RCA Victor by Chet Atkins. After Top Ten entries in 1961 ("Three Steps to the Phone [Millions of Miles]") and 1962 ("If You Don't Know I Ain't Gonna Tell You"), George Hamilton IV hit it big in 1963 with "Abilene." The single, his second to be written by John D. Loudermilk, topped the country charts for four weeks in June and crossed over to number 15 on the pop charts. During 1964, Hamilton charted three singles and returned to the Top Ten with "Fort Worth, Dallas or Houston." I ncreasingly inspired by folk music during 1965, Hamilton began recording the songs of Gordon Lightfoot; both "Steel Rail Blues" and "Early Morning Rain" hit the country Top 15 during 1966, and Hamilton went on to record more Gordon Lightfoot songs than any other artist. "Urge for Going" (written by another folkie, Joni Mitchell) hit number seven in 1967 and "Break My Mind" did the single one better later in the year. He continued to record for RCA until 1974, but chart success largely eluded him -- except for the number-three hit "She's a Little Bit Country" in 1970. Undaunted by his lack of domestic success, George Hamilton IV took country music around the world during the '70s. Besides more than ten tours of Great Britain and several BBC-TV productions, he hosted the Gospel Celebration and the International Country Festival, both of which were held in England. In 1973, he organized the longest international tour ever by a country artist, doing 73 shows over a period of three months. One year later, Hamilton became the first country artist to perform behind the Iron Curtain, where he lectured about country music as well as playing shows (one Czechoslovakian concert even featured a Czech country group backing him). Besides Europe, he toured Africa, the Orient, New Zealand, Australia, and even the Middle East during the late '70s. |

| Colin Elliott gave his life to the Lord when he was only 8 years old through the ministry of Dick Saunders and his Big Tent Crusade. He has been involved in Gospel music ministry for over 26 years and sings with one of Ireland's top Country Gospel Bands, "Live Issue."
Although Colin is mainly known for his singing and playing ability, both in groups and as a solo artist, he is also a respected record producer and session musician. He recently recorded and co-produced two albums for George Hamilton IV, the ìInternational Ambassador of Country Music, one of which went to number one in the NCM European Gospel and Country Charts. The CD entitled "What A Friend We Have in Jesus" also received 5 stars and rave reviews in Country Music magazines such as "Maverick." Colin has just released a new album for George Hamilton IV entitled "Easter in the Country Live" and again the critics have praised the album as one of George's finest. Colin is currently working on a duets album with George Hamilton IV and many of the established stars of the Grand Ole Opry, including Slim Whitman, Marty Stewart, The Whites, and Jan Howard. Over the years Colin has recorded many albums and appeared on countless BBC and independent radio shows. He has also featured on television programmes in Northern Ireland and America. These appearances have provided important opportunities for Colin to share his faith and music with an ever increasing audience. Colin's musical experiences have been very wide and varied over the past quarter of a century, and this is well illustrated in his songwriting ability. Although Colin's repertoire contains dozens of familiar songs, he also performs many which he has penned himself. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Becky Wright, originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma, has been composing music on the piano and writing songs since childhood. She has a true gift of God, and has been singing for Him since the age of twelve. Desiring to share her love of the Lord through this gift of music, she has sang, played, and often shared her testimony and God's Word at many churches, schools, conferences, women's and youth meetings, and other public and private events for 25 years. In May 2006 Becky was approved as a Staff Missionary, and Wright Ministries became a Ministry Department of Artists in Christian Testimony International. The Nashville-based non-profit ministry's mission is to "see lives changed through helping release an army of Arts Ministries Specialists into church, missions, and market place ministries around the world, and helping to better mobilize and equip them for world evangelism."
Becky is also a frequent musical guest & worship leader at marriage workshops sponsored by the OMI (Oklahoma Marriage Initiative), a public/private institution designed to help reduce the divorce rate in Oklahoma. She has won numerous music awards since childhood, and continues that tradition to this day. Just in May 2008, Becky won the "FEMALE SONGWRITER of the YEAR" Award with the Agape Fest Fan Appreciation Awards, held in Jefferson, Texas. In 2006, she was named (June 2006) "Duo of the Year" with Tommy Brandt, for their adoption song, "Child of My Heart", which is playing on hundreds of radio stations worldwide. It stayed on the Christian Music Weekly Chart for eight consecutive months after its release in November 2005. Becky also placed among the Top 5 Finalists for Female Horizon Award with the Agape Fest (Daingerfield, Texas) Fan Appreciation Awards, March 2008. Becky has two recordings of her own (indie), a current award-winning single (Child of My Heart), and a June 2006 album with Lamon Records. The first radio single, "While It is Day" released nationwide on Lamon Records' #10 Comp disc to over 1200 stations, and simultaneously released on the July 2006 Christian Radio Weekly I-Disc, featuring the best of Indie Christian artists' music. Her second release from the project, the haunting and poignant "Billy's Train", received a rave review from Christian Music Weekly, and climbed to #27 (Dec. '07) on the Top 100 Christian Country Songs in just three months on the chart (Power Source Music Magazine). Other artists also record her songs, including eight songs cut by Christian and country artists, and an instrumental composition featured on an international award-winning video ("The Power of Place"), produced by her alma mater Northeastern State University (BSEd, 1994) and the Tahlequah City Chamber of Commerce. Becky also writes musicals for the schools in which she teaches. She teaches private voice and piano, and tunes pianos--- a perfect combo for a girl who started playing the piano at the age of three! Becky is a member of the GMA (Gospel Music Association), the CCMA (Christian Country Music Association), and NSAI (Nashville Songwriters Assoc. Intl.). She has over 40 songs published, and just signed a new Song Administration and Publishing agreement with Banner Music Publishing in Shelbyville, TN (March 2008). Holly Lynn
![]() |
| Raised in Linton, Indiana, Holly began cultivating her musical talents at an early age. With piano lessons and a Fisher-Price radio with microphone in hand, it was evident that Holly was on her way to becoming a vocal performer. I can remember going around the house with that radio microphone singing Tina Turners Whats Love Got To Do With It all the time, recalls Lynn. Yet, Hollys public debut came at church when she sang If I Were A Butterflyand she practiced for that song so much that she nearly lost her voice! Singing throughout her teenage years in Indiana, Holly soon became a seasoned veteran in performing, with performance credits including WTWO (Terre Haute, Indiana) Channel 2 News Live at Five television show, Nashville Follies Musical Theater (Nashville, Indiana), Mitchell Opry House (Mitchell, Indiana), and various musical theater productions, including the lead role in GREASE. These venues marked the starting point for Lynnsetting the stage for countless performances and achievements to come. Hollys interest in Nashville, Tennessee, was sparked as a teenage contestant in several country music vocal competitions in the Music City, including Command Performance and Nashville Star Seek. After graduating in 1999 as the valedictorian of Linton-Stockton High School, Holly returned to Nashville to attend Belmont University. Holly graduated summa cum laude in May of 2003 from Belmont, earning a Bachelor of Music in Commercial Music with an emphasis in Vocal Performance. While at Belmont, Holly was a member of several performing ensembles, such as the Belmont Chorale, Belmont POPS, and the Oratorio Chorus. Holly also became active in the music ministries at Belmont Heights Baptist Church as a soloist and choir member. She has also been a guest soloist at First Baptist Church (Nashville), as well as Springfield Grace Baptist Church. Holly was also named Top School of Music Student, as well as being named to the Deans List every semester during her collegiate career. Emerging on the Nashville music scene as a promising country vocalist, Holly has performed at the French Quarter Café, The Nashville Palace, Edgehill Studios, The Five Spot, and Long Hollow Jamboree. Holly has also appeared as a guest vocalist at The Sutler, The Second Fiddle, and Otters on Demonbreun Street. In March 2006, Holly was invited as a featured vocalist for a benefit concert for Habitat for Humanity, which was held at the legendary BB Kings Bar and Blues Club. Most recently, Holly has become a regular guest performer at the Nashville Cowboy Churchlocated in the historic Texas Troubadour Theatre. This service is broadcast into over 110 countries, reaching millions through WSM Radio, XM Satellite Radio, and WWCR (World Wide Country Radio). Even though Hollys repertoire consists primarily of country musicranging from traditional classics like Crazy to Martina McBrides Independence Daydont be surprised by her versatile vocal abilities. Ive always tried to maintain a well-rounded lifestyle, so I often carry that idea into my musicso I also enjoy singing southern gospel, pop, rock, and adult contemporary songs in my shows. With both classical and commercial training behind her powerful pipes, Holly has certainly been blessed with a versatile voice. Holly carries a deep sense of patriotism for both our country and our troops, and often conveys this through the singing of our National Anthem. After a recent National Anthem performance at Belmont University in Nashville, Holly was approached by country artist Vince Gillwho strongly commended her traditional, accapella performance of the anthem. Hollys rendition of our National Anthem has earned her invitations to perform for the Indiana Pacers (NBA), the Memphis Grizzlies (NBA), and for Indianapolis 500 Qualification races (IRL). She has earned repeat invitations with Belmont University athletics, the Nashville Sounds (PCL, AAAMilwaukee Brewers), and the Indianapolis Indians (AAA-Pittsburgh Pirates). In November of 2006, Holly had the distinct honor of singing for 2,000 troops of the 101st Airborne in a welcome home ceremony in Brentwood, TN. Lynn also gives her time and talent to her hometown of Linton, IN, by opening the Freedom Festival 4th of July parade every summer for nearly 40,000 people. With the release of her self titled CD (5/24/06), Hollys hit song Confused (written by Kelly Garrett--Sony/ATV Tree Publishing/BMI) has impacted country radio on WRAY 98.1 in Princeton, IN. After Confused made its radio debut, Holly was invited to sing live on the air for their Roots of Country radio showshowcasing the hits of Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn. But no matter where Holly Lynn performs, her purpose is to impact the lives of those within her audience. Lynn strives to make a positive influence and lift the spirits of her fans through the gift of a songregardless if it is an emotional ballad or a country anthem. Thats what Holly Lynn MUSIC is all about. |

| Jeff Wisely, a Vergennes, Illinois resident, recorded his first solo gospel album, Saxn For Jesus last year in Nashville, Tennessee, which features his tenor saxophone and vocal-l talent. The album features classic gospel hymns, as well as three original songs written by Jeff. His saxophone style is smooth gospel jazz with touches of early rhythm and blues. Jeff lends his vocal stylings to four songs.
On Jeffs recording experience in Nashville, he states, I am blessed to have the opportunity to meet, work with and become friends with so many new people in Nashville. From start to finish, God definitely had His hands on this project. The professionalism, dedication and creativity of each one involved in putting this CD together comes without measure. |
